Why I love Figma

Figma is my new favourite design tool, and here's why:

Multiplayer

Teams work on the same file in real time and can see live what other team members are working on.

Easy start

If you already used similar tools such as Sketch or Adobe XD, you won't have problems with Figma's user interface.

Awesome Plugins

Figma has an ever-growing library of plugins that make your workflow and life much easier.

Presentation

With Figma, you are easily able to collaborate with a client and save time consuming revisions.

File Management

Cloud-based file management makes Figma easy to design, create and maintain design systems and other design files.

Design Community

Figma has a growing design community who share their knowledge, plugins and helpful design files.

3 Icon Sets free for commercial use

My recommendation for free Icon Sets that I have already used in many projects and like to come back to whenever a new project comes up.

Heroicons

Beautiful hand-crafted SVG icons, by the makers of Tailwind CSS.

Joining Ember

In 2020 I was mainly freelancing for my Hamburg based friends at Ember and they offered me to join full time in 2021. So we made a deal where I work 4 days remotely for Ember and have 1 day per week left for freelancing.

My responsibilities at Ember are in the branding, art direction and UI design areas. Currently we are in the process of relaunching Embers Website.

I am still accepting small to medium sized freelance projects, feel free to contact me in case you need any assistance.

Have any larger project in mind? Let's make it happen with Ember.

Playing Arts Challenge

Had tons of fun working on this artwork for Playing Arts Future Edition.
The challenge was to illustrate your vision of what the world will look like 100 years from now.

Looking at the technological advancements of the last decades I imagine the year 2120 as a full digitalized era with only one device, given at birth, replacing and combining the most essential things. No ID, no documents, no cash, no cables, no classic monitors anymore.

Only one device with ultra secured encryption, backed up and mirrored in everyones personal cloud, always ready. Learning how to use the device will be a part of the modern education system, starting in pre school.
